were greeted by family, friends and pablo is very emotional after this game. >> you know, things you're going to never forget. you know, specially in the world series. you dream like a little kid, being the world series. hitting the home run is too much for me right now. >> the whole family is happy. i bet the old giants fans are happy, too. >> the fact that panda had three home runs off the best pitcher in baseball is about as historic a moment for life-long san francisco giants fans can get. >> what will he do for an encore? we'll find out tomorrow. >> lawrence, thank you. the initial shock soon turned into fren si. .

it's a good night to be a giant's father and mother. actual game-used items in the world series. kimberly, what exactly is for sale here? >> reporter: what will be for sale, as for as the world series goes, unfortunately, the major league baseball claims what is left. usually, dpuring the season, you can get games, jerseys and, of course, tonight, everyone was asking for pablo sandevall stuff. thrilled to have been here to watch history being made. >> i'm just ecstatic. three homers? pablo? wow. the last guy to do that was reggi. it doesn't get much better than that. i think we have a new mr. october. >> tonight, the man known as the panda became the fourth player to hit three homers in world series history. >> he's the beast. he can't be stopped.

>> reporter: right after the game, fans flooded into the game center with game memorabilia. all of them asking for pablo's bat. but, no sales. only broken bats are sold here. this is where the most famous bat in giant's franchise history was accidentally sold for $400. it ended up in the hands of rick alunya. >> i told my boys about it in the morning. and my 22-year-old said to me, you know, you should give the bat back. i said oh, man, i just got it. >> he says it's important for him to set a good example for his three sons all in the eagle skouts. so he handed it over and made sure pence got it on time. >> i thought it would be really important to get it back to him before he started the game since it's got this new magic to it. >> reporter: he got two tickets to c.e.o. larry bayer's sweet.

>> we didn't realize it until people started looking around and introduszing themselves. we're like how did we get here? >> the night couldn't have ended up better. everything turned out right. we got the magic bat back with hunter. i didn't know he hit a home run with it. so when i read that, i was like, wow, this is, like, a really super-important back. >> alonya says what was more important was a call he got from his son who had heard the news he called his dad today during the game to say dad, you're my hero. a lot of fans happy that pence has his bat back. >> okay, for an over-paid picture to left-handed wonder barry zito has undergone a giant frans formation. jamie continues our kov racover

from the ballpark. wow. >> reporter: yeah, wow is right. after the nlcs, a lot of players talking about how it was barry zito's start to spark the team and make that incredible comeback that they did in the last series. so it was for that reason. the manager handed him the ball in game one of the world series. and he certainly did not disappoint. our amy gutierez caught up with him right after the game. >> right after game one of the world series, barry, it's the first game one of the post-season you guys have been able to win. how does it feel being in the driver's seat? >> i was just saying you know what we have in our pocket with our backs against the wall in elimination games. there's no need to make us do that. for us to get the first game and, i guess, especially against verlanderu it's great. we're in a good position now, but we know that we've got them

again, game five. but he's just incredible. i did have all my pitches working early. i was trying the battle, which is not the thing to do against this line-up. i was able to get out of some jams with some cutters and also some curve balls and such. and, you know, it just felt great out there. >> what can you say about pablo? >> he's going to look back on this night for the rest of his life. it was just -- the one, the one early, was huge. hitting that opposite field homer was just incredible. i mean, you know, we were even surprised and we've seen it all with pablo. >> this is also the first time since 1983 that a former cy young award winner relieved another cy young award winner in a game. he has a .84 e.r.a. in 10 2/3

when it koncomes to watching a world series game. let's begin with the ticket. >> $600 each. >> reporter: for? >> standing room only box. >> a really good ticket costs you about a thousand. >> parking your car can cost about as much as a parking ticket. valet parking or the lot around the corner can set you back to 9 $90 to $130. >> having fun on the street is free, but if you want to remember, you have to pay. >> we've got 10 for $10. t-shirts are in the $30, $35 range. >> anymore expensive items? >> jerseys are $135. >> you had to wait in line to get inside bars and restaurants. and nor the out-of-towners, make sure you bring your plastic. >> the hotel is upwards of $400, $450.

crushed by a crane, investigators are trying to figure out how a crane mechanic was killed at the port of oakland today. he was hit by a moving part suffering massive head and chest injuries. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. workers have not been released but now osha is on site investigating. >> the beach remains closed where a man was killed in a shark attack. experts have more clues about that shark that bit francisco, sol aurks rio junior. they say it was a 15-16 foot great white. those clues came from the bite marks you see here left on the surf board. experts say sharks are closer to shore right now because their pray like seals and sea lions are more plentiful. >> tomorrow marks a year since the first round of the oakland demonstration. they say they're ready if there

is. they point to progress like a downtown makeover and they say city pride will hopefully keep people from vandalizing businesses and leave the city in shambles. they say it is optimistic, but that mutual police aide is on standby. >> president obama is pulling an all-nighter. he made a stop in southern california for an appearance on t "the tonight show" with jay leno. the president greeted with a standing ovation from a packed audience. he talked about a wide range of topics near and dear to the bay area and in facebook. however, he refuses to endorse a team. one ot highlights from the night was when he was asked about the situation between him and donald trump. >> this all dates back from when we were growing up together in

kenya? >> i've got to give you that one. >> you can hear more immediately following this newscast. giants fans have seen her at the ballpark for years. in fact, for decades. but as of tonight, the entire country saw the most famous grandmother in the bay area. did you see here? the dancing grandma. now, every game, she ignites the crowd at at&t park. but every year, they show her several times during the broadcast. her son, mas rio is a giant's executive. she's got plenty of reasons to smile and dance, especially, after tonight. >> it's the best thing that ever happened. i love it. this is great. >> rosalie says so.

the hope is that it would all aallow you to see things a year or two years before the regular mammogram would, fwh which case the patient would definitely benefit. it's going to better the survival rates. >> recent studies show radiologists who used the few 3-d mammograms caught 20 mnt more cancers. >> its's hard to see who's the biggest loser in this case. obe is the dog's name, was placed in a foster home after his original owner let him go so fat that he couldn't walk. his new owner spent the next two months getting healthy. the 77 pound dog was on "the

tonight show." now, the rescue center says they want the dog back. they're suing the new owner for custody and the money the new owner made off of dog. obe's fate could be decided on monday. >> all right, let's turn things over to jeff. >> he was kind of cute. >> he was cute, he looked a little bit sad. we are tracking a few isolated showers here just offshore. but all the heaviest rainfall is now moved well out to the east. by all accounts, we are done with at this point. also, up across sierra, we are starting to dry out after some astonishing snow totals in just three days. a little bit less at 18 unchs. other wise right now, it's all about cold temperatures up in north bay. . let's take you outside of that

sky network on this ends evening. and you won't find anything in terms of heavy fog, but we are looking at the mid and also high-level cloud cover that will also be with us for parts of the morning hours. let's get you into the next 48-72 hours. drastically different weather conditions coming our way. storm door still open. but it's starting to shift off to the north. here we go, high pressure moves in offshore. we think it's good enough here to give us a 10-15 degree warm up. not expecting any kind of major heat up here against the coastline. still need a jacket with 50s and 60s. but for the interior valley, not a whole lot of warming for tomorrow. instead of 60s, we're going to go with 70s. but by friday, those numbers will go up to even more. we will have plenty of sunshine by the afternoon and eventually, some 80s coming in that 7 day. we'll begin with some of the

coldest numbers in north bay. >> the forecast looks much better for tomorrow. we're going to start off dry. >> it looks dry through 9:00 p.m. for this game in detroit here, as we head throughout saturday, we're expecting a chance of showers. and for sunday, low 40s that could be in the cards here by the end of the game on sunday. it's going to warm up quite a bit by sunday. come on back. after the 60s for today, we have a nice warm-up over the next three to four-day forecast.

it's note just the players and fans, there's a crush of media here. more than a thousand media members around the world are in town for the world series. >> lawrence scott caught up with one of the biggest names in the business. >> with the world watching the giants, the international press corps is crushing at&t park and the stage is being set on the field for various networks bringing out the biggest games for the biggest stajs. >> there's a lot of truth to be at the end. how do i see it? i see at the root. there will be nothing conventional about it. detroit is a classic american-league big ball.

pablo sandevall, two-run shot to make it 4-0. he wasn't done. bottom of the fifth, pablo again. he's the fourth player in major league baseball history to hit three home runs in the world series. jients went 8-3, lead the series 1-0. the panda caught up with our own amy after the game. three home runs in one world series game, you're the fourth major league player to do that. what was working for you at the plate tonight? >> i don't know. it's one of things. if you come down, you get a person on deck. >> a lot of people before tonight's game talking about your appearance against verlander and the all-star game, the fact that he kind of throws
